Two men from Wappinger were arrested last Tuesday for Burglary by the New York State Police.
John Maglio Jr., 22, of Fishkill, NY, and Michael Schoonmaker, 18, of Wappinger, NY, were arrested after an investigation into a weekend burglary of Stage Door Building Supply on Stage Door Road in the Town of Wappinger. Uniformed State Troopers were called to the scene, during the early morning hours of June 2, after it was discovered that unknown person had forced their way into the warehouse, removing building supplies, alcohol, food, and other items.
The investigation, conducted by Inv. Daniel Smith of the Wappinger Barracks, culminated on June 11 after State Police received information from credible sources. Acting on this information, Inv. Smith and Uniformed Troopers located Maglio and Schoonmaker and both were taken into custody without incident. Items from the burglary were also discovered and secured.
Maglio and Schoonmaker were charged with Burglary 3rd and arraigned before Hon. Carl Wolfson, Town Justice of Wappinger, and were both remanded to the Dutchess County Jail.
